After the flaking has come off the tattoo will look very light underneath and could be patchy, this is normal. Remember the colour will at times look light and then dark. The true colour will be seen at 4 weeks.
DO NOT Pick the flaking off this can cause patchiness and even scarring
Looking After Your Make Up During Healing & Once Healed
Once your make up has healed apply sunblock stick over brow & Lip Tattoos (factor 45+) For eyeliner or if still healing brows/lips/eyes use Sunglasses/Hat if you are going on holiday or if the weather gets very hot and sunny.
Cover your Tattoo if you use a Sun bed as it can lighten them dramatically and change the colour.
Cover the tattoo with Vaseline when swimming in salt or chlorinated water to avoid bleaching effect. Any chemicals of any kind can interfere with the bonding process. Any Glycolic Acid or peels must be kept completely away from the tattoo as it changes the colour and lightens them with constant continuous use. Check moisturisers and cleansers as they can also fade tattoo colour if they contain Retinol A, Aha's Or Skin Brighteners, Fruit enzymes.
Smoking, Medication, Alcohol, Poor Diet/Compromised Immune system, can also effect the colour and retention.
Colours will appear brighter and more sharply defined immediately following the procedure. Colours will lighten and soften in 3-10 days. Often clients think they have lost their colour, it has lightened to much.
This is the reason your adjustments have to wait to be done after 4 weeks and a second treatment will then take place.
Please be aware hairstroke's usually soften and become more of a powdered effect over time.
Once healed when applying makeup, apply around the tattoo or wipe excess foundation off the tattoo so the colour shows through. If you cover the tattoo with foundation/powder the colour will appear lighter and cooler.
Generally darker colours will heal cooler in the skin.
